Today we had our biggest group of volunteers in the history of Green Lake Litter Patrol. 23 volunteers made it out today to clean up the park. We had a big group of Seattle University MBA’s & a great group from a UW Environmental Class. Plus a Mother & young Son along with our regular crew. The park is getting busier this time of year. We had a good crew of volunteers today cleaning up litter at Green Lake Park. There was a 5-km race around the park providing lots of activity. The highlight of the day was seeing numerous ducklings around the lake. There were also numerous families fishing. Please come out and join us for a litter patrol this Spring!

We had a rainy but eventful litter patrol today out at Green Lake Park. It is inspiring to have high school kids join us to participate in community service. Life long community is important! A beautiful April day met us for our Green Lake Litter Patrol. The park was alive with runners, walkers and all types of wild life. We had a great crew of hard working volunteer patrollers scour the park for all types of litter. We also met a group of Seattle Parks & Recreation- Volunteer Naturalist teaching park patrons about the wonders of Green Lake. Seattlites are lucky to have Green Lake Park as everyones back yard. It was a rainy day for our April 7th Litter Patrol around Green Lake Park. We had a hearty group of 4- brave the dreary conditions. I think we picked up 10 bags between us. Most of the debris being cigarette butts, wrappers, cans & plastics. Please come out and join us for a litter patrol. We can use your help cleaning up our beloved park.

A beautiful Easter Sunday for our Green Lake Litter Patrol. We had a small group of 3 patrollers but we picked up over 20 bags of litter. The park is getting busier as the Spring weather improves. The picture this week is of Conner & Issa with a small baby turtle. It is wonderful to see the turtles sunning themselves on these warm & sunny days. It has been a few weeks since our last post for Green Lake Litter. We had a great crew of 11 patrollers out today. It was great to visit with Kathy from Seattle Parks & Recreation & Garet – President of the Friends of Green Lake. So many wonderful people care about this beautiful park. I did see an all time first today- someone threw a box spring in the lake-pretty sad.. Come on out and join us for our Easter Sunday Patrol.

It was a stellar day out at Green Lake Park for our weekly litter patrol. We had a group of 7 patrollers out today. We also spent some time talking to Scott & Kathy- Seattle Parks & Recreation about upcoming park projects. Tommy from Boathouse Coffee took good care of us with a complimentary beverage. Thanks! We had a solid group of 8 -litter patrollers out today at Green Lake Park. The group all felt that the park was cleaner than most weeks. Great news for the community who love the park. We ran into Kathy Blanchard-Land Scape Supervisor for Seattle Parks & Recreation. She does such great work to maintain Green Lake Park landscape areas. Thanks to Boat House Coffee Shop. Sprinkles and fog greeted us at Green Lake Park this morning for our weekly litter patrol. We had a solid crew of 11 patrollers jump in and cleaned up 23 bags of litter. A foggy start to our Green Lake Litter Patrol but the blue skies and sun came out and made it a beautiful morning. We had 15 outstanding patrollers out today for a very productive day. We want to thank the crew from Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream -Green Lake for a wonderful effort and a free ice cream for each patroller. The Boat House Coffee shop set us all up with a beverage.
